squAIR-timber® consists of a cardboard fiber composite. We manufacture the material in Germany according to the principles of the carbon process. In this process, several layers of coordinated cardboard are compacted under the effect of cold-glue compounds and high pressure. These elements are then immediately glued together wet-strength and, after a curing time, become extremely resilient and weatherproof. This manufacturing process is complex, but enables a moisture-resistant product without the use of plastics that are difficult to recycle.
Safety is the key issue in aviation. squAIR-timber® was developed as a loading aid specifically for air freight and has been used successfully by leading airlines and ground handlers since 2017. It has been extensively tested by international airlines over long periods of time and approved for the respective applications.
No. A major advantage of the material is that it saves storage space. A pallet is ready for use in around 30 seconds. At the same time, the customer saves a lot on transportation costs compared to ready-made wooden pallets.
The decisive difference to similar-looking products lies in the lack of air freight certification and application safety. In the past, competing products often had their origins in Eastern Europe and contained varying raw material qualities. squAIR-timber® has been able to demonstrate a consistent level of quality since 2017, without exception. In addition to quality made in Germany, we offer our customers security of supply through pre-production and stockpiling. Our local location is also an advantage, especially when things need to move quickly.
